City Centre – Parking – No excuses
On Wednesday 24th February the Hull Daily Mail included in its business section an article regarding our initiative to link available parking with City Centre commercial space. We’ve got the business space in the City Centre, the infrastructure and the complimentary services but a final hurdle can be a negative perception of parking. There’s often confusion over where you can park and how much it costs.
At Scotts, we think that if we could remove the uncertainty over business parking then business will decide where to start up, expand or relocate without the baggage of whatever preconception they may have over parking. Businesses pay for the privilege of parking from wherever they operate, be it a hidden charge within the rent or a separate fee.
Beyond the thousands of shoppers’ car parking spaces in multi-storeys and on-street short stay parking there are specific commuter parking sites and multi-storeys in the City Centre. These include shopping centres, public car parks, rear facilities and basements, all available to meet business needs.
We have added a category to our unique Scottsearch facility to promote Hull’s central parking on this website. Three clicks, press Scottsearch and a list of contract parking spaces that we can help with will be shown. It’s a facility for those with parking to advertise such opportunities and an easy to use list of parking availability for those looking for business parking.
If we can change the parking perception from an excuse for not considering the City Centre into a reason for giving the City Centre more detailed consideration then the process will be worthwhile. The more suitable the property they occupy, the more successful businesses will be. The offices and other property we market can be linked to car parking facilities and visa versa.
