Ever fancied buying a beach hut?
Posted: 07 October 2014
Well now you can buy 60! With stunning views over the golden sands of Cleethorpes beach to the North Sea beyond the beach huts at Cleethorpes hold many a happy memory for holiday makers from years gone by and they remain extremely popular into the 21st century
Scotts Property LLP has been appointed by current owners North East Lincolnshire Council to offer the 51 beach huts and 9 concrete bases for sale.
Lawrence Brown, partner at Scotts, who is handling the disposal said “The beach huts are a little gem. This sale offers an opportunity to own an iconic part of the Cleethorpes seaside”.
The Council has decided to sell the beach huts because they do not form part of its core property strategy.
The beach hut site comprises a total of 60 individual locations of beach huts. Of these 9 are simply concrete bases whilst the remaining 51 have beach huts on them. Most of the beach huts are let at rents of £5 a year.
Lawrence Brown continued “A purchaser would obviously have a chance to manage the beach huts by letting those which have not been let on a long term basis, on a weekly or even seasonal basis, safe in the knowledge that there is an element of secure income from the existing tenants.”
With the resurgence of the British seaside as a holiday destination and the growing attractiveness of the beach huts this could be an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to enjoy the beautiful Cleethorpes coast.
