Scotts ‘Waste’ no time….

Scotts Property LLP report the disposal of a c. 2,137 sq m (23,000 sq ft) unit located off Rawcliffe Road Goole. The site which formerly formed part of a large haulage and distribution site was proposed to East Riding Council as being a more suitable alternative location to locate the new Goole waste transfer depot. Matthew Tomlinson commented ‘We were aware of the East Riding Council plans to develop Council owned land on Dunhill and Seavy Road, Goole. The location of the proposed scheme was in our opinion not suitable for a waste transfer depot as two sides of the site would have backed onto residential housing. We attended the public consultation and after speaking with a number of local residents it was clear that the plans to locate the facility at this location were generally not supported by local residents. With this in mind we made local Councillors aware of available premises elsewhere. This alternative was subsequently supported by Goole Councillors and East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Whilst we wanted to secure the requirement we needed to be mindful of the proposed use and any impact this may have on the site balance. We worked closely with East Riding Council to agree a site layout and access that significantly differed from that previously used. The site will be accessed direct from Lidice Road which works well for our client whilst providing good accessibility for the intended use.’
