Earlier in the year Rollits Solicitors relocated into Citadel House after a full refurbishment of this building. The adjacent vacant land has recently been sold by Scotts Property.
The site of the former John Good offices were demolished about 10 years ago with ambitious plans approved to redevelop the site into a Hotel, spar and apartment complex boasting an aspect across the Humber Estuary. A casualty of the recession meant that construction never commenced and planning approval expired. Matthew Tomlinson of Scotts Property said ‘we were approached earlier in the year to provide initial advice that lead to our instruction to the sell the land together with joint agents WHR. The strategic importance of the land was promoted from the outset and a good level of interest was registered for a variety of developments including those as ambitious as previously approved.'
The immediate area linking with Humber Street and the Marina has now become a focus of development. The C4DI building now anchors the location with the adjacent Central Dry Dock and new offices both nearing completion. The redevelopment of the Fruit Market earmarked as being the City's cultural quarter is well advanced and will be further supported by the proposed construction of town housing that will extend to include Blanket Row.
‘A short and sharp marketing campaign resulted in a strong level of offers. Whilst the purchaser is undisclosed early indications are suggesting a more ambitious development for the land is proposed.'
