After years of hard work, and months of revision, Scotts' newest recruit Jamie Keith has passed his Assessment of Professional Competence to become a fully-fledged Chartered Surveyor.

The process, which includes recording a training diary for two years, the preparation of a summary of experience and a detailed project on a specific case study is concluded by an hour long gruelling interview in front of a panel of three assessors where the case study is analysed and candidates are questioned on their experience and knowledge.

Jamie said “I've worked hard for this but throughout the process I've been supported by my colleagues at work. I suppose it helps that one of the firm's Partners is an Assessor for the RICS but some of the mock interviews we had were harder than the real thing!”

In addition to the addition of MRICS to Jamie's qualifications he has also been approved as a Registered Valuer under the RICS Valuer registration Scheme meaning that he is able to undertake valuations for secure lending purposes and be involved in a number of areas of professional work.

Partner at Scotts, Tim Powel said “Jamie has worked very hard and despite being the newest member of our team has fitted in extremely well. He already had the respect of his colleagues and this qualification, recognised across the world, means that the wider professional community will also appreciate that they are receiving quality advice from him.”

Jamie concluded “It is important in today's commercial environment for clients to be assured they are receiving professional, consistent property advice. I'm really looking forward to developing my careers at Scotts. I'd like to undertake more valuation work across the region and gain as much experience as possible.”
