Visitors to Grimsby town centre can now rest their weary feet and enjoy cake and coffee at a new coffee shop which has recently opened opposite the Riverhead.

The new shop, Riverhead Coffee, has been opened by Nicola Till who said “With the changes taking place in Grimsby town centre, the creation of a new square at the Riverhead and the new bus terminus I saw a real opportunity for a quality coffee shop for people to enjoy a relaxing drink, and maybe a home baked cake, whilst they either visit the town centre or wait for their bus home.”

Riverhead is the heart of Grimsby town centre and the former bus station has been earmarked for redevelopment as a leisure complex incorporating a cinema and restaurants at the same time providing an extension to the Freshney Place Shopping Centre.

Andrew Parker from Scotts' Grimsby office handled the letting and he said “It is great to see some more investment in the town centre particularly around the Riverhead.  I really think this is going to be a popular area for visitors and more food and drink outlets will give people a wide choice.”

The business specialises in selling Fair Trade Coffee, home baked cakes and speciality teas.

Nicola said: ‘I hope we can provide a little bit of a haven in the town centre where people can sit and watch the world go by'.
